ABOUT: Assisi Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1995 to provide rescue and long-term care for abused, neglected and abandoned small animals. At any given time the sanctuary is home to over 100 animals including dogs, cats and rabbits and the goats Sarah and Elvis. The goats together with some of the dogs and cats are permanent residents. We purchased our current site from the USPCA in 1998. We were the first sanctuary in Ireland to join the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes, a national association which includes NCDL, RSPCA, Batttersea and Blue Cross. In April 2002 we were elected Executive Members of the Association. Assisi operates a strict 'No Kill Policy' and only in extreme circumstances such as terminal illness causing suffering will euthanasia be allowed. Assisi relies entirely on public donations and volunteers to continue our work and all donations are welcome whether financial or otherwise. We promote responsible ownership through talks to schools and community groups and welcome education visits to the sanctuary. All animals that leave the sanctuary are spayed, neutered vaccinated and micro-chipped. We carry out Pre and Post Home visits on all animals homed. There are plans to replace our 25 year old kennel blocks, this is expected to cost Stg£250,000. To find out how you could be part of the future of Assisi why not visit our web site, www.assisi.dnet.co.uk

how people can help: Assisi relies entirely on public donations and volunteers (Dog Walkers, Cat Cuddlers, Electricians, Builders Fund Raisers)to continue our work and all donations are welcome whether financial or otherwise.
